Profile Guideline

Guidelines for Creating a Perfect Matrimonial Profile

How to create the Best Profile

Take "About Me" Section Seriously:
Take "About Me" section as a platform to make your first impression. True first impression doesn't leave a chance for a second one. So write something that you want people to know about you. Do not create a checklist of things you are looking for in a match. Talk about what you like to do, what your hobbies are, what you read, what you watch on TV etc. Ask a friend or a sibling to help you write your profile. Sometimes they know you better than you know yourself.
Check your "Grammar":
Poor grammar and spelling is a turn off for many, and even the best of us can make mistakes. Use computer Spell Check or MS Word for writing and correcting yourself. Later you can copy that text and paste it on your profile.
Honesty is the "Best" Policy:
Lying doesn't get you anywhere when it comes to creating a matrimonial profile. Its human tendency to want to present yourself in the most flattering way, but inaccurate information though could improve your chances initially but would make you look like a complete loser if you get sprung. Now this definitely does not mean that you talk about your past failures or weaknesses. Your profile should be totally representative of who you are right now in your life by putting your best foot forward.
Stay "Positive":
Avoid negative tones and always be positive about yourself. Show your strengths to the reader but in a non-arrogant way. Avoid writing about your mistakes and bad experiences in the past. For example use words like, "creative", "ambitious", and avoid words like "lonely", "alone" etc.
List "Sociable" Hobbies:
People have to imagine how they fit into your life. For example when writing about your hobbies, "I like to read books or poetry and read it aloud sometimes to my friends" sounds more amiable than writing, "I'm a bookworm".
"Update" Regularly:
Make the effort to renew your profile on a regular basis with relevant information about yourself and the potential match you are looking for. Be flexible in your choice criteria as very strict criteria will not only limit your options but also blindfold you from many potential matches that have great personality and qualification, even if they don't fall in your strict criteria.
Sense of "Humor":
People with a sense of humor are so much easier to talk to. And remember "So long as you have courage and a sense of humor, it is never too late to start life afresh". Anything that makes you sound like a fun, charming, intelligent member of the society is good.
